Stanadyne, BYC Announce Global Diesel Common Rail Alliance
Stanadyne, global fuel injection systems developer based inWindsor, Conn., and BYC (ASIMCO Tianwei) a fuel injection systems developerbased in Beijing, China, announced the formation of a strategic alliance tobring diesel common rail (DCR) fuel systems to the global market.
Both companies, which specialize in elements of DCR fuelsystems, will blend their respective expertise to create complete, co-brandedfuel systems for engine makers seeking to utilize the newest diesel technology.Stanadyne will lead the pump design and advanced manufacturing practices forthe alliance, while BYC will focus on injector design, electronic control unitsand systems integration, the companies said.
“BYC and Stanadyne possess complementary core competenciesthat will make it easier for engine makers in our target markets to adoptdiesel common rail technology quickly,” said David Galuska, Stanadyne CEO.“Bringing our organizations together enables us to jointly produce complete DCRsystems that feature best-of-breed components and help customers meet theaggressive emission regulation requirements with purpose-built technology tohandle harsh fuels.”
The Stanadyne-BYC alliance will offer a systems portfoliofor a range of diesel engines up to 600 kW. The alliance aims to provide DCRsystems that are made specifically customer needs. “Our alliance willspecialize in working directly with engine makers to customize systems fortheir specific engine platforms,” said Daniel Liu, general manager of BYC. “Thedesign of the Stanadyne-BYC system features a flexible open architecture, whichallows us to easily adapt and integrate a system to meet customer needs.”
Many of the world’s diesel engine manufacturers use DCRtechnology to meet emission regulations in their markets. With upcomingregulatory changes in China, demand is growing for China-domestic suppliersthat can deliver DCR systems and integration services to meet new emissionstandards, the companies said.
“This alliance is of great strategic importance to us. Weare unified in our commitment to growth and to bringing high technology jobs toChina,” said Mr. Jian Jianxun, chairman of the board BYC.
While both Stanadyne and BYC have a strong design andmanufacturing footprint in China, this agreement will bring DCR systems to theglobal market.
“Stanadynehas design and manufacturing capabilities in every major region, Galuska said.“Our combined manufacturing footprint enables us to serve customers where theyoperate, anywhere in the world.”
